Seaglass Chorale ~ Sea Tones

Seaglass
Chorale

Based in the heart of Kennebunk, Maine, the Seaglass Chorale is a vibrant, non-auditioned adult choral group that brings together 60-70 voices from over 20 communities across southern Maine. Open to all who love to sing, Seaglass believes that music should be accessible to everyone, regardless of formal training or prior experience. With a growing reputation for musical excellence, the chorale has become a powerful voice in the region, regularly performing at venues in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Wells, Sanford, Saco, and beyond.

In addition to the full chorale, the ensemble proudly presents Seatones, an auditioned vocal group focused on the art of a cappella singing. From classical to contemporary, the Seatones’ repertoire spans a wide range of styles, offering a unique and captivating experience for all music lovers. Auditions for Seatones are held annually in September, focusing on sight-reading, ear training, and rhythmic skills. Open to all vocal parts as space allows, the group typically consists of just 15 voices, ensuring an intimate and refined performance.

Thank you for honoring Teri and for supporting our mission to promote and deliver exceptional musical performances, as well as to foster a love and appreciation for music.
The Seaglass Board of Directors, in collaboration with the Barrow family, has established a memorial fund in honor of Teri Barrow, a beloved member of Seaglass Chorale for over 25 years.

Teri joined Seaglass with a deep love of music, but with little to no vocal training and no ability to read music. She auditioned for a Seaglass summer musical but didn’t make the cut. Jean suggested she join Seaglass anyway—and she did! Teri was determined, with a keen ear for music. Through hard work and Jean’s guidance, she learned to sing, breathe, and perform. The following year, Teri auditioned again for a summer musical and this time, she made the cut!
